Tonight, a short trip to Minnesota

Well, not really. We'll be heading up to the Bangor Auditorium to see a live performance of Garrison Keillor's "A Prairie Home Companion," which is one of our favorite things of all time. Right now, Amanda is up in Pittsfield, rehearsing with the Bossov Ballet Company for their joint concert (not like a Bob Marley joint concert) with Amanda's Augusta Symphony. I am going to pick her up, and then we'll head to dinner at Momma Baldacci's (which we hope doesnt suck as bad as the Maine governor who bears the same name) and then to PHC. If you all want to listen, its on National Public Radio from 6 to 8pm. You can here the show we'll be at!! For you Maine crowd in the Waterville area-south, its either 91.3 or 90.1. For you Mass people, its probably on 89.7. I dont think Jersey has any public radio stations, because its "public" and not "commercial" . . .and everything in Jersey is commercial. Wah wah . . . .

Last night, we went to Portland with Lynne and George, grabbed dinner at On the Border (a Mexican restaurant) and then went to Babies R Us to look at breast pumps . . .the things that make life worthwhile. We also picked out our bureau/changing table, and its really nice. Then, we got our crib mattress, some crib sheets, covers, and some other misc. stuff that we didnt get at our showers (its amazing to believe, with all the stuff we got, that we still needed things!!)

You should all check out the radio show tonight--its an old fashioned radio variety show, and tonight's guests include Dave Mallett, an arrogant Maine singer/songwriter, and some angry looking Pulitzer Prize winning poet. I shouldnt say those things . . .she could be very good! If nothing else, at least check it out at the end for the "news from Lake Wobegone," where Garrison tells a little anecdote about the "mythical" town he's created. We know Mike and M-S Thurston are heading up . . .and I think we know others who are going . . .we just cant remember who. Talk to you tomorrow!

First Jared and Amanda I have to say I hope you have an enjoyable night tonight.

Second Jared: I'm surprised you didn't call On The Border your usual "On the Crapper". You must have really enjoyed your meal.

Yo belle! You go girl!

i only give the "crap" designation if the restaurant, store, or business sucks. on the border is actually good. thus, no crap. craparitas is not even good enough to be called food. thus, crap.

Thanks for the explanation Jared, so like belle said you must have really enjoyed "On the border" then. Silly belle was probably thinking that since "on the border" is a chain you would have classified it as "on the crapper" just like craparitas.

Do you like babies r us or do you consider that babies r crappers?

well, its true . . .babies ARE crappers

i have nothing against chains. just really bad restaurants, like margaritas.

I have to say that i am also suprised that you didn't say you went to "on the crapper".

I hope you guys had a great night. Jared i can just imagine that you and george were loving every miniute of being in Babies R us.

Hi Jared,

You better practice getting catnaps because the Bean will change your sleep routine, just ask Donna and Keith.
I hope you are going to take Amanda and MIL out for brunch or dinner on Mother's Day.
Amanda you look great and Aunt June and I hope the Bean is on time for June 6th, that way we can hopefuly come up that wekend for a quick visit to see you and the baby and Jared. We will bring up a cheese steak for the Bean.
Oh yea Jared we do have Socialist (Public) Radio and Socialist (Public) TV in Jersey, after all,, we have the honor of the hightest property taxes in the nation and a governer who wants to lease the NJ Turnpike/GS Parkway/AC Expressway and use that money for more Socialist Programs. Why doesn't NPR have any conservative programs or oldies music?
We can't wait till you Mainers visit this summer. Maybe the duck will return also.
Get plenty of sleep, you will need it.

hey uncle mohammed,

NPR has lots of oldies; why, on fridays you can listen to "down memory lane" which is all oldies. Plus they have the "American Routes" radio music show. And not to mention classical--it doesnt get any "oldies"-er than that, right?

As a conservative such as yourself, I dont find NPR's stuff to be "liberal" or "socialist." I find it to be about the fairest and most unbiased around (still, that doesnt say much). they are certainly better than fox news a.k.a. "the bush channel." CNN headline news isnt bad though . . .but thats only because they have Robin Meade as their anchor. wow.

Brick, holy crap, you have the internet now???

Oh yeh and Jared if you think you had a crappy week last week then let me just tell you about my last week:

first: I hit a mercedes bumper in my parking lot at work and had to have my insurance company pay for that......

second: I was rear ended last friday and my car has been undrivable as they are taking it apart to see if there is frame damage or not......

third: I'm stuck in a awful gangsta type rental vehicle that should have license plates that should read "Mafia Princess".....

fourth: our water heater just died tonight flooding our basement and PSE&G our utilities company can't get out here until tomorrow sometime between 8am and 12pm. So now needless to say I can't enjoy my sunday evening before work getting a nice relaxing hot bath reading my people magazine.

How is that for a crappy week?
